MAE COYIUTO

Mae Coyiuto is the author of Chloe and the Kaishao Boys, a 2023 New York Public Library Best Book of the Year. Her next YA novel Goodbye and Everything After is set to release in February 2026. She is also the former editor-in-chief of The Philippine STAR's Young STAR, one of the country's leading youth publications. If she's not writing, she's usually fangirling over Beyoncé, tennis, Gilmore Girls, or all of the above. She currently lives in Manila.

"But Chloe and the Kaishao Boys is not just good because of its relatability, though it definitely plays a part. It’s good because author Coyiuto has such a deep, empathetic understanding of the teenage condition—this is most apparent in her thoughtfully drawn characters, where both teenagers and their parents are given the same degree of complexity."

BOOKS

"I laughed and I cried and I felt like I was inside of Nika's family. Mae Coyiuto has given us a moving—and hilarious—novel about grief and love."

Nina LaCour, Michael L. Printz Award winning author of We Are Okay and Watch Over Me.
